About Peltonen Knives
Finland has a unique knife culture and strong traditions in knife making. Finnish knife manufacturers are rare, as the craft requires special artisanal skills and a deep understanding, especially of working with carbon steel. For over a decade, Peltonen Knives blades have been handmade by Finnish craftsmen at the Laurin Metalli workshop, which was founded in 1918 in Kauhava.

The sheath is half the knife
Great attention has been paid to the design of Peltonen knife sheaths. J-P Peltonen designed them to be durable, versatile, and secure. Made in the traditional Finnish style, the knife's leather sheath represents genuine Nordic craftsmanship. Kydex is used as a secondary material, which is just as durable, lightweight, and easy to maintain, and is available in various colors and camouflage patterns.

Uncoated Represents the classic Finnish blade finish, valued for its authenticity. The blade has black sides and is made of non-stainless steel, thus requiring the most care to prevent rust and maintain sharpness, but rewards the user with a timeless aesthetic.

Both curly birch and Micarta feel solid and warm in the hand. The materials age beautifully over time. Special attention has been paid to the ergonomics of the handle – no pressure points.
